We, Armin and Daniela Vollmer, look forward to your visit, welcome you to our family-run house quite warmly and wish you a wonderful vacation and a relaxing stay.
You can expect in our hotel pension "Im Malerwinkel" a warm atmosphere, modern furnished rooms designed with love; in the morning a rich breakfast and access to cold and hot drinks at any time. Almost all guest rooms are easily accessible by elevator.
We also offer you our own parking lot free of charge.
In 1964 Herbert and Irene Hartel learned that the gem on the Münzbach, the Malerwinkel, was for sale. They dreamed of building a small guesthouse and soon began the renovation work with a lot of initiative and drive. At Whitsun 1965 they opened the "Pension Im Malerwinkel" in Bacharach. Irene, the soul of the house, and Herbert, the "temporary waiter", as they jokingly called themselves, were anxious to serve the well-being of the guests.
Today, 55 years later, the Malerwinkel is continued in the 3rd generation by Armin and Daniela Vollmer.
What makes us especially proud is that we can still count people among our guests who were at Oma Irene's in the Malerwinkel for the first time over 50 years ago and have remained loyal to us year after year since then; who have experienced the change in the house and honored it with much praise, gratitude and well-being and give us both the strength to continue to follow the tradition, to continue to live the heart of Oma Irene in her spirit.
